How to Decorate Your Bedroom
Your bedroom is a place where you can be yourself. The place needs to have a vibe of serenity and peace. It is your personal sanctuary and should have elements that make you effortlessly move into ‘Zone Comfort’ as soon as you step into it. Most people do not pay much attention to bedroom design because the place isn’t visited by others. However, this requires most attention because this is your personal pad to recharge for the next day. We think these elements should certainly be taken care of to make yourself a dreamy bedroom:
A pretty looking headboard can set a theme for the bedroom – colour or décor. It could completely transform the feel of the bedroom and make it look majestic or warm depending on the kind of material that is used. There are a variety of design options like soft upholstered/wooden/metal jaalis etc. Apart from these, quirky options like decals are also used in place of real headboards. The rest of the room can then be stylized accordingly.
While most of us would crawl to our beds the first thing, it is a great addition to have a lounger or a big chair near a window. A small side table to rest that mug of coffee would be a perfect addition on a rainy day. Essentially, a neatly carved out area other than your bed could add a lot of character to your bedroom. You could place things you collected from that romantic getaway on that small table.
Nothing makes a bibliophile happy than a bookshelf in his/her den. It’s a dream to wake up to the whiff of books and sleep to the sight of those lovely hardbacks. If you abhor books, you could add a small rack with little knick knacks on it. These could be things you love or gifts you received from a loved one or that painting you made on one of those happy Sundays. Dress it up your way.
Well placed and well played lights in the bedroom can do wonders. With the huge variety of remote controlled lights now available, you could tune off the light while you hit the snooze button. Sensor lights that switch off automatically are also a great addition.
Last but the most important element of a great bedroom is a nice, comfortable bed with a cozy mattress. Select a bed that sets well within the dimensions of your room. From wide pan beds to poster beds, pick a bed that makes you feel like a queen. Splurging on a good quality mattress will reap rich benefits and your back will always thank you.
